SMS Notification Terms

✓ SMS is optional. You can use the service without it.

Receiving SMS notifications is entirely voluntary. Customers can place orders, book appointments, and use every feature of the AI phone agent without opting in to text messages. Declining SMS has no effecton order processing, pickup time, or service quality — the AI will still take the order and the restaurant will still prepare it. Verbal opt-out (“no thanks”) during the call works the same as not opting in. Opt-in consent is requested separately from the order itself and is never a precondition for service.

Who sends these messages

ProoN (proon.ai) operates an AI phone ordering platform for restaurants and other service businesses. When a customer calls a participating business's phone number, our AI receptionist takes their order/appointment and — with their consent — sends an SMS confirmation to the phone number they called from. SMS messages are sent on behalf of the business using ProoN's sender number +1 (510) 766-7997.

How customers opt in

Opt-in is always voluntary and never required to place an order or use the service. There are two ways a customer can opt in to SMS messages from ProoN if they choose to:

1. Web form (above)

The customer enters their phone number on this page, checks the explicit consent box that says “I agree to receive SMS…”, and clicks submit. This action is logged with their IP address, user agent, timestamp, and consent flag, and we retain this record for at least 5 years per A2P 10DLC requirements.

2. Verbal consent during a phone order

During the phone call, after the AI has taken the order, it asks the customer verbally for consent before sending any SMS:

“I'll text your order confirmation and pickup time to the number you're calling from — is that okay?”

The customer must verbally agree (“yes”, “sure”, “that's fine”) before any SMS is sent. If they decline or stay silent, no SMS is sent. The full call audio + a time-stamped transcript are stored as proof of consent, and the restaurant retains these records for the duration of the customer relationship plus 5 years.

For Twilio / TCR / Carrier reviewers

To verify the opt-in flow yourself: enter any US mobile number you control in the form at the top of this page, check the consent box, and submit. You will receive ONE sample SMS within ~5 seconds containing the standard A2P 10DLC footer (STOP / HELP / msg+data rates may apply). Reply STOP at any time to opt out. Opt-in records (phone, IP, user agent, timestamp, consent flag) are retained in our audit log per A2P 10DLC requirements.

What customers receive

After consenting, the customer receives transactional messages tied to their order. Examples:

  • Order confirmation — sent once, immediately after the order is placed. Contains items, total, pickup time, restaurant address, and (if your POS supports it) a link to pay.
  • Status updates — when the restaurant marks the order as preparing, ready for pickup, or completed. At most one SMS per status, max 3 per order.
  • Voicemail / callback notifications— if the AI takes a voicemail because the customer asked for a human or had a question outside its scope, an alert is sent to the restaurant's staff line (not the customer).

Frequency

Maximum 4 messages per order(1 confirmation + up to 3 status updates). We do not send marketing, promotions, recurring messages, or any content unrelated to the customer's active order.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message at any time and we will immediately stop sending you SMS. You can reply UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT with the same effect. After opting out you will receive a final confirmation message acknowledging your request.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply.Your carrier's standard SMS rates apply to messages sent to and from your phone. ProoN does not charge customers for SMS.

Carriers

Supported on all major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy

We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. Numbers are used only to deliver order-related messages from the restaurant you called. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle personal information.
